Lindsey Goehring is a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. During law school, Lindsey was an active member of the Immigration Law Association, serving as the Secretary during her second year. Her first summer in law school, Lindsey interned with the General Board of Church and Society in Washington, D.C. where she assisted in lobbying Congress for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. In her final year of law school, Lindsey served as the Research Assistant for the school’s Immigration and Human Rights Policy Clinic. Her work in the clinic included filing petitions, such as EAD renewals and I-485s, on behalf of U-visa and VAWA clients. Lindsey found this work to be rewarding and was inspired by the clients she met. All of these experiences solidified her desire to devote her legal career to practicing immigration law.
In addition to her work with immigration law, Lindsey completed a summer internship with the Legal Aid Society in North Carolina where she assisted in representing clients affected by domestic violence. Other law school activities included the completion of several pro bono projects in the Chapel Hill community, membership in the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, and participation on the law school’s Honor Court. Lastly, Lindsey served as a staff member and Notes Editor on the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology. She had the honor of having an article published as a staff member in the Fall of 2009.
As a native of North Carolina, Lindsey grew up in the eastern part of the state. She attended the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina and graduated cum laude in 2008 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Political Science and with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Lindsey is a member of the North Carolina Bar. |
