Lesley Dickson is a 2011 graduate of The George Washington Law School, where she concentrated her studies in immigration and international law. During her third year of law school, Lesley worked as a student-attorney in the Immigration Clinic at George Washington, where she represented several clients with issues ranging from affirmative asylum to adjustment of status. Lesley’s main case at the Clinic was an individual calendar NACARA hearing. Her client was a native and citizen of El Salvador who fled his country in the late 1980’s to escape the warfare of that country. He spent his life from that time forward in the United States and faced removal and deportation. Due to Lesley’s representation, her client was found eligible for NACARA benefits and granted lawful permanent resident status. He is now able to remain in the United States with his wife and children. This experience inspired Lesley to continue working in immigration law as a professional attorney.
Before joining Fayad Law, Lesley worked as a legal fellow at Transparency International- USA, a global civil society organization designed to enforce anti-corruption legislation in international business deals. During law school, Lesley also worked as a pro bono volunteer with the Capitol Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition in Washington, DC, where she assisted immigrant detainees in obtaining legal information. Her other legal activities include a summer judicial internship with the Surrogates Court of Nassau County, New York, the GW Class of 2011 Gift Campaign, member of the George Washington Gulf Relief Network, and student-contributor for the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association Slip Opinion Blog. Lesley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in Art History from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2008 and is a member of the Virginia Bar and New Jersey Bar.
